These days there seems to be more bad news than good news when it comes to the economic climate. Nonetheless, business must still recruit talent through the good times and the bad.

We present to you the first three of six phases and a handful of questions that you should consider to strategise and enhance your recruiting process.

Anticipate your Business Needs

Review your requirements in relation to your strategic plans and your future organisational structure. What positions need to be created or filled? Which pipelines require leaders? Think far and plan ahead.

Specify the Job and Its Details

Now you’ve identified the positions, what competencies, skills, knowledge and capabilities do you want from them? What and how do you require them to accomplish the business imperatives you set for them?

Expand the Talent Pool

Cast a wide net, ask anyone, consider everyone. People on the inside, who might have contrasting ideas that can contribute an alternative perspective? What about People on the outside? Former employees, customers, suppliers, advisers, etc. Talent is to be found everywhere, if you are open to looking.
