You do not need to become a technical expert, so do not be harsh on yourself if you are unable to solve all of your team’s queries. Nonetheless, do learn enough from them to understand where they get stuck at and what resources they might need that you can provide.

Add Value Through Other Means

If your team is full of technical experts, consider how else you can add value so as to gain credibility from the team. Ways include using your network to accomplish certain tasks efficiently, being on the frontline negotiating with your stakeholders, and setting the right expectations for the team.

Trust Your Employees to Achieve the Big Picture

Share your company’s strategy with your team, and trust that they would use their expertise to best help the company achieve its targets. However, for those that abuse your trust, do not forget that you have the last word.
